The Section “Physical, Mathematical and Geological Sciences” unites fellows of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (including fellows of the Feodor Lynen Programme) working in all areas of experimental and theoretical physics, pure and applied mathematics, as well as in the geological sciences. Their research stays are hosted by leading specialists at renowned German universities and Max Planck Institutes.
The Humboldtians of the Section carry out experimental research and teaching at some of the most prestigious scientific and educational institutions in Bulgaria – the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski, the Technical University of Sofia, the St. Cyril and St. Methodius University of Veliko Tarnovo, New Bulgarian University, and others.
